The first line of defense in any self defense action plan is to use one of your personal safety alarms as a signal and diversion. We recommend setting off one of your personal security alarms at the first sign that a threat is imminent. You should have one of our personal alarms in your purse or briefcase, as well as a backup in your car console.

The personal alarms that you see with a pin-pull type activation are ideal as a diversion to not only confuse a perp, but also to signal for help. Simply pull the pin on these types of personal safety alarms and lightly toss to the ground. The perp will have to make a decision about what to do next. Should he go for the alarm or continue the attack? You can then pull out your pepper spray real quick and apply liberally to his face.

Every self-defense kit should include several personal alarms that can be used in different situations and kept in strategic locations so you can get to them when needed.
