One of the most important pieces to your surveillance system is your surveillance digital video recorder (DVR). Whether you have one, four or sixteen cameras, you have to take what those cameras see and store that video for reference or possible evidence. This is what your DVR does. Security video recorders are where your videos are saved from what your cameras are seeing.

How can you See your Cameras from a Remote Location over the Internet?

Most of our digital security video recorders will do this. Just check the detailed description of the particular DVR, and it will tell you whether you can view your recordings and/or cameras from a remote location over the Internet or not. You will need internet access at both locations.

How can you get Motion Detection Recording?

Many people get confused about this function. This is a function of the DVR. Motion detection capability is provided by our security video recorders via the built-in software. There is special software that is built-in to the embedded DVRs to accomplish motion detection recording. Most of our security video recorders will provide this function. This will really cut down on the amount of hard disk space needed to save your video recordings.

How can you Record what your Cameras see onto your Computer?

This is what many people are doing today. Since you can get a pretty good laptop nowadays for under $300, you can use that along with our USB DVR to record your camera videos. The USB DVR allows you to attach up to 4 cameras to your computer. It even comes with the software needed to provide for motion detection and viewing your cameras from a remote location.

Or, if you don't want to do that, you can use one of our Embedded DVRs listed in this section and record to that instead of recording to your computer.
